About

My husband and I are a couple of mid-aged Millennials who still believe we can make the world a better place. We were grew up with casserole dinners, the Cosby show, and computer lab. We didn't have social media, lockdown drills, or self-care until later in life. Now we're trying to navigate the complexity of bridging our 80's style parenting in today's 21st century world. We haven't given up on the peace and pleasure the comes from living in committed community, but we can't unsee the  systemic injustices that make a tranquil life unattainable for many in our city. Our hearts and lives are torn between hope and hurdles, and we prefer to live

stretched in the middle.

Planted

We call Kansas City, Missouri home. We live in the suburbs, work in Midtown and send our kids to school in the urban core.  We gather weekly with longtime friends and family in homes across the metro to worship and study the Bible. We are discovering, mostly through trial and error, what it means to live as a prayerful family on mission in KC.

Rooted

My husband and I seek to live out humble hospitality, wild generosity, and shameless hope. We believe these should be extended to people of all backgrounds and life experiences. We joke that we were both born with the "Why not" gene, which has allowed us to say "yes" to people and projects we never dreamed of getting to be apart of.
